STOKE CITY vs EVERTON (EPL)

<3.10> <3.15> <2.05>

everton lost their last game quite unflatteringly to a resurgent pompey side. they lacked any sort of fluency, and yakubu managed to miss a penalty as well. this time around though, everton are playing the worst team in the league, stoke city. this time around, they boast record signing belgian midfielder fellaini, and i think the feel-good factor surrounding everton after his signing along with that of louis saha, should be enough to lift everton to only their second victory this term.

Eddy's prediction: $5 on everton @ 2.05 = $10.25

DERBY vs SHEFFIELD UTD (COCA-COLA CHAMPIONSHIP)

<2.73> <3.15> <2.25>

derby have endured a terrible start to the season, having lost thrice and drawn once. and you all know what i'm going to say next. yes, pick derby to win this game, despite them being the underdogs. they are at home, after all, and having had a look at the squads available, sheffield united's quality is equal, if not worse than derby's. derby's only problem is that they have yet to adapt to the championship football yet, and they don't know how to win, as they are still on that wretched no-win streak stretching back 36 games. but they'll win today.

Eddy's prediction: $5 on derby @ 2.73 = $13.65

COLOGNE vs BAYERN MUNICH (BUNDESLIGA)

<5.30> <3.50> <1.53>

cologne were lucky to defeat karlsruhe 2-0 two weeks ago, and should slump to defeat at home against bayern. cologne will miss umit ozat, who collapsed two weeks ago but is now recovering well, and pierre wome, which makes their defence a little unstable. couple that with miroslav klose's return to form, and you begin to see why bayern should have no problems here. tim borowski has also done well since joining, and i think he will win the midfield battle with the combative petit.

Eddy's prediction: $5 on bayern munich @ 1.53 = $7.65

PORTSMOUTH vs MIDDLESBROUGH (EPL)

<1.80> <3.30> <3.70>

The Defoe-Crouch partnership seems to be starting to blossom, and Glen Johnson has been a revelation as a RWB. Middlesbrough have Tuncay out and Aliadiere + Wheater doubtful, which is a huge blow to them. Pompey don't deserve to be 16th and it's time to get some much needed points in the bag.

Roland's prediction: $5 on Portsmouth @ 1.80 = $9.00

FULHAM vs BOLTON (EPL)

<2.00> <3.20> <3.15>

Andy Johnson is back. He will score against a toothless Bolton who have Elmander, Matt Taylor and Gary Cahill out. After their brilliant win over le Arse, Fulham will be high on confidence and their creativity in midfield with the likes of Bullard, Gera and Davies should be able to create goals.

Roland's prediction: $5 on Fulham @ 2.00 = $10.00

BLACKBURN vs ARSENAL (EPL)

<4.60> <3.50> <1.60>

arsenal will win this one, because they are the best team in the world. words of an arsenal fan. seriously though, i think arsenal will win, based on the fact that blackburn are shite this season. also, arsenal lost their last away match, and will want to get back to winning ways.

Eddy's prediction: $5 on arsenal @ 1.60 = $8.00

Blackburn are shite and will not have Grella, Dunn and Ooijer. Mokoena and Reid in the centre of midfield spells trouble for Blackburn. Arsenal don't have Nasri, who has been a bright spark, but their side should not have too much difficulty seeing a lousy Blackburn side off with their ability to keep possession and dominate games. Coming from a United fan.

Roland's prediction: $5 on Arsenal @ 1.60 = $8.00

LIVERPOOL vs MANCHESTER UTD (EPL)

<2.90> <2.95> <2.25>

well it's the big one. liverpool face off against arch-rivals man utd, and early odds movement sees punters favouring the red devils, despite them playing away from home. ronaldo is out, and liverpool look to be playing gerrard and torres despite them only just recovering from injuries. i'm looking forward to a cracker. united have had the indian sign over the liverpudlians for quite a long while now, but all bad runs have to end somewhere, and i think liverpool will do it tomorrow. robbie keane will get his first goal as well, i just have this feeling. liverpool level ball would be a brilliant bet, as i can't see them losing, but with spools, i think you should go for liverpool home win.

Eddy's prediction: $5 on liverpool @ 2.90 = $14.50

Well, my earlier thought was that it was going to be a goalless draw - Fletcher was top scorer for United and Liverpool had Torres + Gerrard out. A change in circumstances now with Berbatov joining United, Rooney ending his goal drought and Torres + Gerrard being declared fit. I went for level ball Man Utd because I'm a fan, duh. Go for it if you can, because Rooney is a player who won't stop scoring until he breaks his metatarsal. Remember that Benitez hasn't scored against United in the league, and his only goal against United was a John O'Shea own goal. Go figure. Another bet to consider would be total goals under 2.5, as these games are generally tight. United players will be returning from their international escapades, while Gerrard and Torres won't be 100% fully fit, so expect it to be a match where both teams cancel each other out.

Roland's prediction: $5 on draw @ 2.95 = $14.75

FINLAND vs GERMANY (WC QUALIFYING)

<6.80> <3.75> <1.40>

Podolski seems to have carried on his form from the Euros, scoring twice over the weekend against Liechtenstein. While Finland aren't exactly as bad as Liechtenstein, they are still a pretty shite team, especially with Jari Litmanen out injured. At the back they have Hyypia and Jaaskelainen, who are established players, but I feel that Hyypia's lack of pace will be severely exploited in this game by the well-oiled German machine. Klose has had a very barren run of late, after his World Cup golden boot exploits, and I think this might be the match that ends that rotten streak.

Roland's prediction: $10 on Germany @ 1.40 = $14.00
$5 on Germany -1.5 @ 2.40 = $12.00

CROATIA vs ENGLAND (WC QUALIFYING)

<2.25> <2.95> <2.90>

frankly, i don't quite know why i have faith in england. they play like shit half the time. however, i feel they will want revenge after missing out on the euros, and what better way than to inflict a defeat on croatia in zagreb? i think rooney will score in this one to break his long international drought, and croatia, might find themselves missing kranjcar A LOT, as they seek to break england down. england might not win, but the odds make it worth a shot. special post today, as i'll throw in a fancy bet, which you can hopefully find a bookmaker to take on.

Eddy's prediction: $5 on england @ 2.90 = $14.50
$5 on crowd violence leading to supporters injured/dead after the game @ ??? = $???

Agree with Eddy. England play like shit, but will step up for this game suddenly to take revenge. Otherwise, the tabloids would be all over their asses and then Capello will have to sleep with all his players in their beds to comfort them. Croatia will look to attack and looked sharp over the weekend in their 3-0 victory over Kazakhstan. England will be without Steven Gerrard, but Ferdinand is back and will provide stability at the back. Also, the croats will not pile 10 men behind the ball like Andorra so England should have a better time in attack. I have money on England 0, but since spools only offers 1.5 I'll go for an England win @ 2.90.

Roland's prediction: $5 on England @ 2.90 = $14.50

UZBEKISTAN vs AUSTRALIA (WC QUALIFYING)

<3.05> <3.15> <2.07>

uzbekistan, i feel, have finally reached a stage where they really do not have much of a chance at all. australia will definitely qualify for the world cup, and it's matches like this they have to win to have a shot at it, as the uzbeks are one of the underdogs in the group. they should have too much quality for the uzbeks in this match of the fake asians. SERIOUSLY, which uzbek or aussie actually fits your typical asian profile?

Eddy's prediction: $5 on australia @ 2.07 = $10.35

The Poztralians beat Holland 2-1. They've shown that they can defend, so I don't think the Uzbeks can score against the Poztralians. Harry Kewell was taken off at half time so he should be fully rested for this match. Poztralians to win.

Roland's prediction: $5 on Australia @ 2.07 = $10.35

WOODLANDS vs GOMBAK (S-LEAGUE)

<2.15> <3.10> <2.93>

woodlands have taken 2 points of a possible 21 in recent games. to say that their form is poor would be an understatement. woodlands, though, aren't a bad side, but they've just come up against quality opposition, in the form of saffc, home, super reds, albirex niigata, and of course, the shitkickers of the league, young lions (not quality, just lucky and cunt-ish). against a gombak side missing BOTH gabriel obatola and kingsley njoku, woodlands shouldn't concede, and i think they should win this game.

Eddy's prediction: $5 on woodlands @ 2.15 = $10.75

ALBIREX NIIGATA vs HOME UTD (S-LEAGUE)

<6.80> <3.75> <1.40>

albirex come into this in sparkling form, unbeaten in 7, while home united boast 6 wins in the last seven, a 1-0 loss to tampines rovers the only blip. with a new-found defensive solidity based on the impressive "taka" takatoshi uchida, and experience provided by seasoned campaigners tetsuya okayama and yoshitaka komori further upfield, it's no wonder home united are taking albirex seriously. however, all good runs have to come to an end, and i can't see albirex winning here again. however, i also don't see home united spanking them, especially with playmaker shi jiayi out.

p.s. please go watch albirex live at the jurong east stadium. they are amazing, and the atmosphere rocks.

Eddy's prediction: $5 on albirex +1.5 @ 1.53 = $7.65

YOUNG LIONS vs SUPER REDS (S-LEAGUE)

<6.90> <3.85> <1.38>

young lions have won two in a row in the league. right, get yourself off the floor now. it's true. somehow, they've done it. the bunch of shitkickers from jalan besar have somehow managed to SCORE 5 goals in their last 2, and are unbeaten in 5 in the league?! what's the world coming to? next thing you know, man city sign robinho! oh wait. damn. anyway, i wanna break my young lions jinx tonight. so go for super reds!

Eddy's prediction: $5 on super reds @ 1.38 = $6.90
$5 on super reds -1.5 @ 2.45 = $12.25
